The Mitsubishi one with the grandma hurts because all of us that were born in the 80s and 90s are becoming that grandma. Remember when the Eclipse was a turbo'd AWD little rocket? Grandma remembers.

I grew up a GM guy so I was always more into F-bodies and Vettes, but I always had respect for the DSMs, Evos, and 3000GTs. It's tragic, the depths that Mitsu has allowed themselves to sink.

This one has to take the cake for me.
And this one is tragically true. Though the fourth gen pictured is missing some opaque yellow headlamps and sunburned plastic. The one pictured isn’t representative.

I’ve had a 3rd gen and a 4th gen, both 4x4, and the 4th gen was worlds better. 2 extra cylinders certainly didn’t hurt its’ case

My friend has a rusty fourth gen beater without AC (in Georgia!) and it struck me as pretty pokey from the passenger seat (6 cylinder). He did a full throttle stop sign pull and it seemed about average for a heavy truck with big tires but pretty slow by passenger car standards. Was yours the V8?

As much as I love my 3rd gen, the V8 in the 4th gen would be a lot of fun.

But I'd take a 3rd gen over a 4th if it had the V6. Those weren't exactly quick or torquey or fuel efficient or anything really.

That carb vs fuel injection really got me. All of these are good. I approve.

Yeah mine was a later V8 with the VVTi. I never had any complaints about acceleration (or glorious noise!)
Also with the V8 came full time AWD (lockable center diff and low range still) , so it could get up and scoot no matter what the weather was

There is a lot to like about the fourth gen but it just doesn’t do it for me with the V6. Lockable center diff sounds really cool though. And I didn’t realize any of them were full time AWD. I thought they were all part time 4x4.

That fuel injection VS. carburetor one is great, but for me it’s more like
Me: Alright, I’m gonna give it some throttle to see if the engine stalls.
Carburetor: Okay!
Engine: Vroom vroom!
Me: Alright, sounds good, now I’ll shift it into gear.
Engine: [dies]
Carburetor: I wasn’t ready.

Yeah the 8 makes a big difference, and that’s the only option for full-time AWD too. Though they did offer the 8 with 2WD which must be a riot. Lower it 2.5", throw some heavy sway bars on there and have a legit street truck
